This is a loose powder foundation with sunscreen that’s best for oily, sensitive skin. It contains high amounts of the sunscreen actives titanium dioxide and zinc oxide (this likely provides more protection than SPF 45, but as with any powder you'd really have to apply a lot to get the stated amount of protection) while the base formula has a light, smooth, and dry texture without a obvious shine.

This sheer powder is dispensed from a cylindrical component onto a built-in powder brush. The brush isn't the softest, but works to apply this loose powder evenly while minimizing mess. The powder goes on sheer and translucent, and does a good job of keeping oily shine at bay. It’s a good way to add to your daily sun protection, even if you’re just touching up to tone down shine.

As for the peptides and antioxidants this contains, they’re a nice touch but it’s questionable as to how stable they’ll be in a powder base. They’re not bad additions to this product and in fact they may offer anti-aging benefits (the sunscreen does that for sure) but just how much is up for debate.

Brand Overview

Peter Thomas Roth At-A-Glance

Peter Thomas Roth is a large but straightforward line with mostly uncomplicated formulations that, for the most part, are quite good and state-of-the-art. Unlike many product lines, most of the acne, AHA, BHA, sunscreen, and moisturizing products contain what they should to be effective and helpful for skin.

Even more impressive are the well-formulated cleansers, sunscreens, AHA products, and skin lighteners. The moisturizers have improved somewhat, and most are now packaged so that the light- and air-sensitive ingredients remain stable. In fact, Roth's packaging deserves special mention because it is exceptionally utilitarian.

After all that glowing praise, what you should be aware of are the instances of products containing potential irritants (noted in their respective reviews) as well as the products in jar packaging that contain ingredients which are sensitive to air and light.
