Glycolic Acid 10% Hydrating Gel is an excellent fragrance-free AHA product for all skin types, with a few added extra beneficial ingredients that make it more than just the average. Its lightweight formula will work well for both oily and dry skin alike, making this a formula that anyone battling uneven skin tone or signs of aging can appreciate. Even better, the fact that it has a pH of about 3.6 ensures it will actually be able to work as an exfoliant!

At a 10% concentration, this may not be well tolerated for daily use by some, but those who can incorporate it into their routine will see improvements in fine (and not so fine) lines. Glycolic acid, when used on a regular basis, can help improve skins' own ability to produce healthy collagen. Don't forget to wear your SPF daily to see the benefits of this (or any other) anti-aging treatments.

Though this is on the pricey side, Peter Thomas Roth's Glycolic Acid 10% Hydrating Gel is one of the few 10% AHAs that is workable for any skin type, and the fact that it is both fragrance free and has added antioxidants makes it an even better standout.

Note: Because alcohol denatured is the last ingredient in this formula, it's not present in a concentration high enough to be of concern for most.

  • Lightweight formula works for any skin type.
  • Includes added beneficial antioxidants.
  • 10% glycolic acid treats signs of aging, uneven skin tone, lines and wrinkles.
  • Fragrance free.
  • On the pricey side.

Peter Thomas Roth At-A-Glance

Peter Thomas Roth is a large but straightforward line with mostly uncomplicated formulations that, for the most part, are quite good and state-of-the-art. Unlike many product lines, most of the acne, AHA, BHA, sunscreen, and moisturizing products contain what they should to be effective and helpful for skin.

Even more impressive are the well-formulated cleansers, sunscreens, AHA products, and skin lighteners. The moisturizers have improved somewhat, and most are now packaged so that the light- and air-sensitive ingredients remain stable. In fact, Roth's packaging deserves special mention because it is exceptionally utilitarian.

After all that glowing praise, what you should be aware of are the instances of products containing potential irritants (noted in their respective reviews) as well as the products in jar packaging that contain ingredients which are sensitive to air and light.
