This is a basic, overpriced scrub whose abrasive agent (magnesium oxide) is similar to the crystals used in professional microdermabrasion treatments. That sounds good, but this isn’t the equivalent of a professional microdermabrasion treatment (and even those aren’t all that great, at least if you’re hoping for more than smooth skin). It is far too easy to overdo it with this gritty scrub, and that can impair skin’s barrier function, leading to problems such as extreme combination skin and stubborn dry, flaky patches. Although this contains some helpful, plant-based soothing agents and antioxidants, the thickeners and oil in this scrub make it tricky to rinse completely—and you don’t want the magnesium oxide crystals lingering on your face. As for the special M3 Complex mentioned in the claims, they have no impact on increasing skin’s hydration or making it look more luminous. In fact, much of their benefit (which is mostly as antioxidants) is rinsed down the drain (that is, if you can manage to rinse this completely). In terms of anti-aging benefits, you will see much greater results with a well formulated AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) or BHA (beta hydroxy acid) exfoliant. See the Best Products section for our top picks in both categories.

If you decide to try this scrub, it is most suited to normal or dry skin that is not prone to sensitivity.

This soothing polisher combines micro-exfoliants, natural extracts, and high-grade micronized magnesium-oxide crystals to smooth, refine, and buff skin’s texture. Infused with Miracle Skin Transformer’s M3 Complex, a blend of algae extract, vitamins, and antioxidants, this finisher increases hydration and creates more luminous skin. Use this product to instantly exfoliate, renew devitalized, dull and flaky skin, and gently polish skin to remove dead skin and smooth texture. Also works to soften visible signs of aging such as fine lines and wrinkles.
