This daytime moisturizer with sunscreen provides reliable broad-spectrum protection thanks to a mix of stabilized avobenzone with other sunscreen actives. The lightweight, somewhat fluid lotion texture slips over skin to hydrate without feeling too slick or heavy, though this does leave a sheen on skin those with oily skin aren't likely to appreciate. Part of the sheen is from the overall formula, but part is also from mica, a mineral pigment that lends shine. This works well under makeup so the sheen can be tempered with a matte- finish foundation and powder.
Beyond the excellent sun protection, the formula contains an overall impressive mix of antioxidants, repairing ingredients, and cell-communicating ingredients. Lauder definitely knows of the importance of these ingredients, and it's nice to see this time out they skipped the jar packaging in favor of an opaque tube, which works brilliantly to keep the light- and air-sensitive antioxidants stable during use.
Note: Lauder mentions in the claims that this sheer formula goes over any moisturizer. What's not stated is that this product is, in fact, a moisturizer! It absolutely provides moisture and only those with dry skin will find they need to apply a regular moisturizer beneath this. Everyone else can consider this the moisturizer step in their morning routine.
Although this contains fragrance, the amount is low and this doesn't contain the fragrance ingredients (like linalool) seen in some other DayWear products. The fragrant plant extracts of lemon and rosemary are minimal cause for concern, though their presence and the so-called synthetic active ingredients in this DayWear product make it a potentially iffy choice for those with extra-sensitive skin.
This powerful UV protector helps defend your skin to keep it looking younger, longer. The most effective anti-oxidant power ever: includes our proprietary Super Anti-Oxidant Complex, proven to fight free radical damage. Advanced broad spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen helps skin resist the first signs of aging. Sheer, lightweight formula goes over any moisturizer. Leaves skin soft, smooth and comfortable.

Estee Lauder At-A-Glance
The history of Estee Lauder goes back to 1946, when the woman who created the brand (and for whom it is named) began selling creams and lotions made by her chemist uncle. From its humble beginnings, Estee Lauder has grown to become a multibillion-dollar company whose products are sold all over the world and advertised in just about every fashion and women's lifestyle magazine available.
The biggest compliment we can pay to the venerable Estee Lauder line is that their moisturizers and serums can largely be described as state-of-the-art. Though fragrance is often intrusive, but when it comes to formulary excellence culminating in products that give skin what it needs to function optimally, they are tough to beat.
When it comes to makeup, by and large the brand also exceeds expectations. Though there are some under-performing products (you can read more about them in our individual reviews), Lauder has a number of excellent options, most notably its lip colors.
