Wrinkle Correction Serum B3 + Peptides
While Olay’s claims for Wrinkle Correction Serum B3 + Peptides overpromise on what it can do, its beneficial blend of ingredients really can help with wrinkles and other signs of aging, so we’re happy to recommend it.
Housed in an opaque bottle and dispensed via dropper, Wrinkle Correction Serum has a milky, fluid-gel consistency that glides on and sinks into skin. It leaves a lightweight, imperceptible finish, compatible with any skin type.
True to its name, the fragrance-free formula contains peptides. In particular, the palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 has research showing it can reduce signs of aging, including wrinkles. We’re also thrilled to see a healthy dose of niacinamide (vitamin B3). Niacinamide offers a host of anti-aging benefits to reinforce this serum’s “wrinkle correction” power. Just don’t expect the overall result to be on par with the effect that you’d get with cosmetic “fillers” as Olay implies (no skin care product can do that).
Other ingredients such as glycerin and panthenol round out the formula to boost skin’s hydration and suppleness. We’re also happy to see the hydrating antioxidant hydroxyacetophenone, which helps defend skin from free radicals.
As long as you keep your expectations in check, Wrinkle Correction Serum B3 + Peptides is a worthy contender to consider adding to your routine.
- Formulated with anti-wrinkle peptides + ingredients that boost skin’s suppleness.
- Front-loaded with niacinamide to improve skin’s youthful qualities.
- Lightweight formula compatible with all skin types.
- Packaged to preserve the stability of the formula.
- Fragrance free.
- Cannot “lift” skin or mimic what cosmetic fillers do for skin.
Ditch the fillers. We’ve formulated this ultra-concentrated anti-aging serum to penetrate your skin’s surface and treat wrinkles at the source. Our Wrinkle Correction serum harnesses the power of the “fountain of youth” niacinamide to rejuvenate your skin while our dual peptides replenish collagen, leaving you with a smooth complexion and lifted look.
Starting decades ago with the now-classic Oil of Olay, this brand now offers an extensive range of skin-care products sold at drugstores and mass-market stores. Today's Olay lineup for those concerned about staving off the effects of aging skin is impressive, comprising their Regenerist, Pro X, and Total Effects lines. All of these (and several other Olay products) contain the B vitamin niacinamide. As you might expect, the claims made for it are inflated, but niacinamide is a very helpful ingredient for all skin types, capable of exerting multiple benefits.
In fact, perhaps the biggest complaint about Olay is that there are a number of repetitive formulas within and between the sub-brands make this line confusing and tricky to shop! Still, there is a lot to like about this drugstore stalwart, with its main drawback being a few formulas containing fragrance or other ingredients that have the potential to cause irritation.
