Brand Overview

Indeed Laboratories Vitamin C24 is a concentrated vitamin C treatment that can live up to most of its claims… we just wish it had a little bit more going for it in terms of supporting ingredients.

First things first: when it comes to the name, the “24” refers to 22% vitamin C, and a “2% hyaluronic acid spheres,” so you’re not getting a 24% concentration of vitamin C as you might suspect. Still, 22% vitamin C is nothing at all to sneeze at!

In fact, at that concentration, the form vitamin C in this product (ascorbic acid) can make a significant impact on skin, helping improve both its tone and the appearance of discolorations, as well as reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen production and aiding repair.

In addition, this formula is fragrance free, has a silky texture that works well both over and under skin care products, plus it’s packaged stably (in an opaque squeeze tube). Vitamin C, like all antioxidants, needs to be protected from light and air exposure to remain effective. It’s particularly vulnerable to oxidation, so stable packaging like this is a must.

In fact, the only drawback is that outside of the vitamin C, there’s just not much here to write home about. It’s rather one-note, with texture enhancers and a dash of skin-plumping sodium hyaluronate, but that’s it.

The brand claims their formula is unique because it remains stable, but other brands offer similar vitamin C treatments, and there’s certainly more than one way to stabilize this delicate antioxidant. We’re not disputing Indeed’s stability, just clarifying that theirs is not the only stable option around.

Were it a true powerhouse formula, with more supporting antioxidants, it would’ve earned our highest rating, but if you’re just looking for an extra boost of vitamin C to add to your skin care routine, this is a great option.

Pros:
  • High concentration of vitamin C can improve the looks of discolorations and uneven skin tone.
  • Can reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles as claimed.
  • Texture is smooth and works well both over and under other skin care products.
  • Packaged stably to protect its star ingredient from light and air.
  • Fragrance free.
Cons:
  • Formula is one-note and would be better with additional beneficial ingredients.
Jar Packaging: No
Tested on animals: No

This combined serum and moisturizer is formulated with 22% L-ascorbic acid (the purest form of vitamin C) and 2% hyaluronic microspheres to help protect your skin from environmental damage, while increasing hydration levels to even out skin tone and reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Unlike other vitamin C serums, vitamin C24 has a unique formula that stays stable, doesn’t oxidize and is designed to optimize absorption into the skin, allowing for maximum vitamin C benefits and potency. This moisturizing cream leaves your skin brighter, younger and more radiant. Repair, restore and protect your skin with vitamin C24; your best daily defence against environmental aggressors.

Dimethicone, Ascorbic Acid, Polysilicone-11, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Silica Silylate, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Butylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hexylene Glycol.

Strengths: Inexpensive; some novel products worth checking out, fragrance-free.

Weaknesses: Some of the products in this line make claims that the results are like in-office cosmetic corrective procedures when that is not the case.

Promising high performance, innovative products, Canada-based Indeed Laboratories is a small, drugstore-sold line specializing in anti-aging-themed products. Their best-known product, and not surprisingly the one we're asked about the most, is Nanoblur. This product is essentially a silicone-based wrinkle filler and pore smoother that works, though no better than many other, similar products. All of these types of products work (temporarily, of course) to improve skin texture and fill imperfections to a degree that they're slightly to moderately less noticeable. Where Nanoblur makes its mark is the price point, which many will find enticing.

This is a line that seeks to avoid fragrance, and that's always to skin's benefit, and their modern-looking packaging will help keep light- and air-sensitive ingredients (like retinol) from degrading. Though the claims of certain products don't always live up to the reality of their ingredients,  if you keep your expectations realistic and don't expect miracles, you're far more likely to come away satisfied.
