Brand Overview

BeautyStat’s Universal C Skin Refiner claims to brighten, re-texturize and firm skin, and thanks to its 20% concentration of vitamin C (L-ascorbic acid), it really can do all that!

Starting off a good note, the opaque, pump bottle packaging protects the delicate vitamin C (and other antioxidants) from air and light exposure, ensuring the formula stays stable and potent. BeautyStat also claims to be using a patented, encapsulated delivery system to improve efficacy and while we don’t know all the inner workings of that, the fact that this is waterless formula should help improve stability.

Why should you care? Vitamin C is backed by research for fading discolorations, brightening skin and evening out tone, so if you struggle with any of these issues it’s a great option to try. We love that Universal C Skin Refiner’s velvety, dry-finish texture allows it stay where you put, which is particularly great when targeting dark spots.

Research also shows that high concentrations of vitamin C can help firm skin and improve the appearance of wrinkles and here it’s combined with skin-replenishing squalane and antioxidant-rich green tea extract for added benefit. Altogether, this fragrance-free formula has great potential to achieve healthier, younger-looking skin as promised.

BeautyStat Cosmetics is the brainchild of cosmetics chemist, Ron Robinson, who created the line after 20+ years of working in the industry (with brands such as Clinique, L’oreal and Avon). In Robinson’s own words, he created BeautyStat to help “cut through the clutter” and give consumers “products that are high performing.”

In particular, Robinson is passionate about his “patented, encapsulated delivery system” for stabilized vitamin C, which you’ll find in his Universal C Skin Refiner (the first BeautyStat product launched and one we happen to recommend highly).

At the time of this writing, the brand has only launched a couple of other products, so how this skin care line will continue to evolve has yet to be seen, but we’re hopeful for the future of what BeautyStat holds.
