Brand Overview

Gold Bond's Ultimate Radiance Renewal Cream Oil is a product that gets most of what it does exactly right; in fact, only one minor slip-up keeps it from our highest rating.

This cream comes in a squeeze tube and has a texture that's rich and initially quite thick. It "warms up" a bit when it contacts skin, making it easier to spread. Dry skin is immediately moisturized, and that effect lasts over time, with it still being much softer hours later.

There's a host of emollient ingredients in this formula, including tried-and-true natural stalwarts like coconut oil, cocoa butter, and shea butter. They're joined by skin-replenishing ingredients and even some antioxidants. When it comes to providing skin with nurturing moisture, this body product has the goods.

As for the exfoliating properties of this moisturizer, they come from the urea and gluconolactone in the formula. You're likely to see some improvement in skin smoothness from their inclusion (though for very rough skin, you're better off using a well-formulated AHA or BHA exfoliant).

The only drawback is the small amount of fragrance in the formula. The cream itself has a light coconut scent, and while that might make your nose happy, your skin prefers zero fragrance, since fragrance of any sort can cause irritation.

Otherwise, this is a great moisturizer that comes at a pretty great price, too.

Gold Bond At-A-Glance

Gold Bond is a staple at drugstores due to their small selection of body lotions, anti-itch products, and various foot-care products. Though there are a number of Gold Bond products containing the potent irritant menthol (particularly its foot care and "medicated" products), in recent years Gold Bond has taken great strides and now offers some impressive moisturizers that are fairly priced, too.
