Ultimate Coverage 24-Hour Foundation
Becca doesn't make outlandish claims for their Ultimate Coverage 24-Hour Foundation and doesn't have to—this foundation for combination to oily skin simply does what it says and does it well.
Housed in an elegant glass bottle with a pump dispenser, Becca's Ultimate Coverage 24-Hour Foundation has a thick gel texture that's a bit tricky to smooth over skin with fingers, since there is a bit of drag. We found more success by dabbing it on with a damp sponge (such as a beautyblender), which makes it significantly easier to apply and blend.
True to Becca's claims, this has intense pigments, meaning a little goes a very long way and provides full coverage. The water-resistant formula nicely resists coming off when you sweat or are exposed to high humidity.
Thankfully, this foundation's high level of coverage doesn't look or feel mask-like; instead it imparts a natural matte finish that feels lightweight. It does a good job covering redness, brown spots, and other imperfections without calling attention to itself.
The shade range is impressive, with two dozen natural-looking options for fair to very deep skin tones. This also wears well (though please don't leave it on your face for 24 hours, because that means your skin is missing out on a great nighttime routine), without fading or separating.
Ultimate Coverage 24-Hour Foundation begins to emphasize fine lines and wrinkles toward the end of its wear time, but you can mitigate this with a quick touch-up with the sponge.
Note: This foundation is also a good choice for sensitive, redness-prone skin because of its overall gentle formula and ability to cover discolorations.

Australian import Becca is a complete line of color cosmetics from makeup artist Rebecca Morrice Williams. As the story goes, Rebecca, like so many women, was having difficulty finding the perfect foundation. It seems her professional experience making up women of varying skin tones and preferences shared one truth: all women wanted perfect skin. This set Williams on her path to creating what would become the Becca line, a makeup collection that caters well to all skin tones.
While there are a number of excellent foundations here, what seems to have catapulted the brand onto the map is their numerous highlighter products. From liquids to powders, there are an incredible range of options in their luminizer categories, and many are superb.
Surveying the rest of this line revealed that Williams not only did her homework for foundation shades, the eyeshadows are amazingly silky, and many of their products for lips and cheeks are exemplary. Lastly, almost all of the makeup brushes from Becca are aces, and the options plentiful, especially for eye designs.
Strengths: Excellent concealers, foundations, highlighters and eyeshadows; good lip gloss; several outstanding brushes.
Weaknesses: Beats us, this is a strong collection of products.
Becca is available at Sephora, Ulta and via their Web site.
