Suede Collection is a palette in a single container that includes four pressed-powder eyeshadows and two brushes—which would be convenient, except that this compact is so small it looks more like a deluxe sample than a full-size product. When we say small, we mean toy-size small; the eye color pans are barely the size of a U.S. nickel! As for the included brushes, forget about it! Both are so tiny that routine usage is almost laughable.
However, if you don't mind splurging for this travel-size compact and can figure out how to use it, the pressed-powder shadows are quite good and are suitable for creating an attractive natural or smokey eye look. The texture is dry and smooth, and all shades have a matte finish, except for the "highlighter" shade, which has a soft satin finish.
This compact is advertised as having eyeliner and brow powder included, but, in actuality, all the pressed powders have the same formula. The only difference is that one of the pressed-powder pans is divided in half, with a black side and a dark brown side—the black side is supposed to be "eyeliner powder," but it isn't pigmented enough to work well as eyeliner, and the dark brown "brow powder" won't work for all eyebrow colors.
- Dry, smooth texture applies evenly and blends well.
- Cohesive eyeshadow palette for creating natural or smokey eye looks.
- The size of the eyeshadow pans and brushes is disappointingly small.
AmazingCosmetics was founded in 1999 as a small online company that sold only one producta cream concealer. Co-founders Lisa Thurman and Sue Katz believe a great concealer is the ultimate must-have for in a person's makeup routine. AmazingConcealer caught fire, becoming a makeup artist favorite, and so the foundation for a beauty brand was formed.
Since the launch of AmazingCosmetics and the success of AmazingConcealer, the line has expanded its makeup line with products for the eyes, lips, and face, including the now-popular Velvet Mineral Liquid Foundation with their "AmazingConcealer Technology." Once sold only online, AmazingCosmetics is now available in Sephora and Ulta stores across the U.S.A.
