Brand Overview

Studio Pro HD Brow Pencil earns an A+ for its ability to draw defined, yet natural-looking brows that stay put—all at a budget-friendly price.

We love the way the ultra-thin, fine-point, semi-stiff pencil allows for drawing precise, defined, hair-like strokes. We also appreciate the attached spoolie brush to groom brow hairs and soften the look. Rounding things out, this fragrance-free pencil doesn't require manual sharpening—meaning that less product is wasted. But there's even more to love…

Of the handful of colors Studio Pro HD Brow Pencil offers, there's an auburn shade, a shade for ashy blondes, and a few options for medium-to-dark brunettes. All told, a better representation than what's typical for brow pencils.

Between the shade range, great price and equally great performance, this brow pencil earns our top recommendation. We'd even venture as far as to say that it's an inexpensive dupe for the cult-favorite Anastasia of Beverly Hills' Brow Wiz (although Brow Wiz comes in even more colors).

Pros:
  • Ultra-thin, fine-point, semi-stiff pencil allows for precise application.
  • Perfect for drawing defined, hair-like strokes.
  • Formula stays put without smudging or fading.
  • Includes a spoolie brush to help tame brows and soften the look.
  • Twist-up design ensures less product is wasted.
  • Better-than-average range of shades.
  • Fragrance free.
Cons:
  • None.
Jar Packaging: No

This is the ultimate long-wearing retractable brow pencil. The ultra-fine precision tip lets you define your arches and fill in gaps, while the spooley end blends for a natural finish.

The brainchild of three beauty industry insiders (including a former advertising executive) who set out to provide makeup lovers with colorful, quality products at affordable prices, BH Cosmetics got its start in Los Angeles in 2009. For the most part, the brand succeeds in this mission and has garnered a loyal following in the process.

BH Cosmetics was quick to reach out to social media stars to feature its products and the strategy has worked well; most of the brand’s notoriety is based on its presence in online reviews from influencers. But it’s more than just hype that’s put BH Cosmetics on the map: The products perform well, at prices that are budget-friendly.

For our initial reviews, we selected a handful of BH Cosmetics’ most popular products, and for the most part the news is good. Among the winners are a setting spray that skips the drying alcohol found in others, a foundation and concealer that hold up through a full day of wear and come in a good range of colors, and a brow pencil that’s a dupe for more expensive versions on the market.

Right now, BH Cosmetics is sold on the brand’s website, which also offers wholesale purchases for makeup artists, as well as at Ulta. You can learn more at https://www.bhcosmetics.com/.
