Sensitive Eye Cream
This eye cream’s formula is very similar to Burt’s Bees Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream, and there’s no reason that cannot be applied around the eyes, too. If anything, the Moisturizing Cream is the better choice because it contains a much lower amount of denatured alcohol than the Eye Cream. Granted, in both products the amount is likely too low to be cause for concern, but why include it at all, especially in a product meant for use around the eyes? This is a good, though unnecessary, product for dry skin. It cannot help with puffiness at all; in fact, its heavier texture may worsen the appearance of puffy eyes (if your puffiness comes from fluid retention, in which case heavier products can pull the distended skin).
Clinically proven to moisturize the delicate eye area without causing redness or irritation, this lightweight eye cream helps reduce the appearance of under-eye puffiness. Formulated with softening Cotton Extract, it helps skin replenish its outer layer and minimize the effects of potential irritants such as harsh soaps or cleansers.
Weaknesses: Many products have potent fragranced formulas; several formulas packaged in jars, which compromises their ingredients.
With humble beginnings in the town of Bangor, Maine, Burt's Bees is a brand focused on natural-themed, earth-friendly skincare. Unfortunately, in many cases, this also translates to less than beneficial formulas as not all of the natural ingredients used are helpful for skin.
Many of the plant extracts and oils used in these products, including orange oil, cinnamon oil, clove oil, lemon oil, eucalyptus oil, pine tar, alcohol, lime oil, and balsam peru, are problematic for skin and present a significant risk of irritation or a sensitizing reaction. Both the intriguing philosophy and inexpensive products are attractive, but it takes more than that to establish reliable products that are good for skin. Its also important to consider the potential benefit (or potential harm) of the ingredients used.
There are some formulas to consider among the brands offerings, but some to be wary ofsee our individual reviews on Burts Bees products for more details.
