Radiance Day Creme
Radiance Day Creme is not suitable for daytime because it doesn’t contain a sunscreen. Yes, you can apply this and follow with a foundation rated SPF 15 or greater, but the greasy base isn’t the best for makeup application, even if skin is very dry. The plant extracts in this moisturizer are a mix of good and bad natural ingredients. Essentially, they cancel each other out, but ultimately there’s no need to tolerate the bad natural ingredients (spearmint, sage, and lemon) when there are products that omit them. This moisturizer also contains far more fragrance than beneficial ingredients for skin, and fragrance isn’t skin care. One more point: the fact that this moisturizer is packaged in a jar is not only a hygiene issue, but it also means the beneficial natural ingredients this contains won’t remain stable for long after you open this product.
Infused with Royal Jelly, one of natures most powerful nutrients, this day creme moisturizes, helps enhance your skin's radiance and minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Resulting in naturally radiant, younger-looking skin.
Weaknesses: Many products have potent fragranced formulas; several formulas packaged in jars, which compromises their ingredients.
With humble beginnings in the town of Bangor, Maine, Burt's Bees is a brand focused on natural-themed, earth-friendly skincare. Unfortunately, in many cases, this also translates to less than beneficial formulas as not all of the natural ingredients used are helpful for skin.
Many of the plant extracts and oils used in these products, including orange oil, cinnamon oil, clove oil, lemon oil, eucalyptus oil, pine tar, alcohol, lime oil, and balsam peru, are problematic for skin and present a significant risk of irritation or a sensitizing reaction. Both the intriguing philosophy and inexpensive products are attractive, but it takes more than that to establish reliable products that are good for skin. Its also important to consider the potential benefit (or potential harm) of the ingredients used.
There are some formulas to consider among the brands offerings, but some to be wary of, see our individual reviews on Burt's Bees products for more details.
