Perfectionist Pro Instant Wrinkle Filler Tri-Polymer Blend
Perfectionist Pro Instant Wrinkle Filler Tri-Polymer Blend is supposed to immediately soften facial lines and wrinkles, with claims that hint this precision treatment is akin to dermal fillers or other injectables, but it doesn't work even remotely the same. In fact, this can make wrinkles look more prominent!
The opaque squeeze tube packaging and needle-nose tip make it easy to dispense small doses of this concentrated fragrance-free product, after which you're directed to dab it directly onto wrinkles until it sets.
The Tri-Polymer blend and film-forming agents combine to form a texture that's initially thick and silky but softens to a creamy feel as you dab-dab-dab those lines away. However, as this dries, it becomes stickier, almost like spackle, which is the likely reason why Lauder directs you to apply moisturizer over this once it dries.
Although the moisturizer pretty much eliminates the strange sticky feel, this wrinkle filler actually begins to make wrinkles look more prominent within an hour or less after it dries! We tried it on crow's feet and the "11s," those pesky vertical lines between the brows; in both instances, Perfectionist Pro Instant Wrinkle Filler looked convincing for a while (the lines were softly blurred and smoothed out) but then sort of caved in and exaggerated the appearance of what we were using this to soften!
How disappointing, because the formula contains some very good anti-aging ingredients to benefit all skin types. But at least you can get those ingredients and more from Lauder's other Perfectionist Pro treatment, which is distinctly preferred to those ill-begotten wrinkle filler.
- Contains some very good anti-aging ingredients.
- Easy to use, and initial results are visibly impressive.
- Fragrance free.
- When used as directed, eventually makes lines look more prominent.
- Must be used with moisturizer to avoid a sticky-feeling finish.
Estee Lauder At-A-Glance
The history of Estee Lauder goes back to 1946, when the woman who created the brand (and for whom it is named) began selling creams and lotions made by her chemist uncle. From its humble beginnings, Estee Lauder has grown to become a multibillion-dollar company whose products are sold all over the world and advertised in just about every fashion and women's lifestyle magazine available.
The biggest compliment we can pay to the venerable Estee Lauder line is that their moisturizers and serums can largely be described as state-of-the-art. Though fragrance is often intrusive, but when it comes to formulary excellence culminating in products that give skin what it needs to function optimally, they are tough to beat.
When it comes to makeup, by and large the brand also exceeds expectations. Though there are some under-performing products (you can read more about them in our individual reviews), Lauder has a number of excellent options, most notably its lip colors.
