Long-Wear Cream Shadow
Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Cream Shadow takes a cue from the brands successful Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner—the result is an excellent cream eyeshadow that is easy to use and resists creasing or fading. Fragrance-free, this formula is an ideal choice for those seeking a shadow that will last the day, as well as a versatile product that works well under powder shadows (or on its own).
Their texture isn't as easy to blend as a powder shadow at first, but after one or two uses, you'll find this is a simple product to use. We found that a dense, flat brush was an ideal choice for applying this to the lid or crease area, but its smooth consistency worked quite well with finger application, too. A major strength of Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Cream Shadow is that it avoids the overly emollient texture pitfall of so many cream shadows—in fact, once this sets, it resists creasing or fading (even on oily lids or especially humid conditions).
The color selection offers options for those seeking neutral shades to use for a base color, crease or to highlight the brow bone. (The deeper shades also work well when used as eyeliner.) From bone white to deep aubergine and bronze shades, there is certain to be something for those in any skin tone range. There is a mix of matte and satin finishes—those with shimmer are mostly on the low to moderate side of shine.
For its tenacious wear time, beautiful range of color options and superior performance, Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Cream Shadow earns our highest rating. Here's a quick tip for even longer wear: Layer this under a matte powder shadow. The combination will make this formula quite water-resistant (so much so that you'll likely need an oil-based makeup remover to take it off at the end of the day).

Bobbi Brown At-A-Glance
Strengths: A good cleanser and eye makeup removers; some impressive foundations, with options for all skin types and preferences; very good blushes and eyeshadows (powder and cream); several top-notch mascaras; mostly excellent brushes.
Weaknesses: Multiple moisturizers in jar packaging, otherwise great products hindered with irritating fragrant oils or fragrance components.
It all began with lipsticks. In 1991, New York based makeup artist Bobbi Brown debuted a collection of ten lipsticks at Bergdorf Goodman, expecting to sell about one hundred units in a month. She sold more than that the first day. From there, it's been mostly success after success, as Brown launched her classic foundation stick, wrote her first book, Bobbi Brown Beauty The Ultimate Beauty Resource, and enjoyed continued attention as an in-demand makeup artist and beauty educator.
Today, Bobbi Brown's makeup that continues to excel with superior foundations, true matte blushes and eyeshadows, and with all of the other basics that are essential to anyones makeup wardrobe. It isn't the least bit surprising that this makeup collection continues to do so well, because for many it's one-stop shopping that combines classic makeup application techniques with enough fun-yet-functional products to keep customer's interest piqued season to season.
Turning to the skincare collection, there are a few excellent formulas, but unfortunately, many are packaged in a jar, which means their beneficial ingredients are rendered useless due to air exposure (and bacterial contamination from spatulas or fingers). In addition, some suffer from the inclusion of potent fragrant essential oils. Those that should be avoided are noted in their respective reviews. That aside, color is without a doubt Bobbi Brown's strong pointbut you will find a few sleeper hits among the selection of skincare products.
