Brand Overview

Light Chaser Highlighter for Face & Eye delivers a "kaleidoscopic" (shifting) highlight to give your skin a supermodel glow. With a gorgeous mix of everyday, wearable shades + trendier hues that can a double as blush or eyeshadow, this earns our top recommendation.

Interestingly, this fragrance-free pressed powder doesn't feel as silky as Becca's other powder highlighters, yet it still adheres well to skin and blends evenly, without issue. The colors are buildable so you can start soft or amp up the intensity depending on what level of highlight you're after.

There are six limited-edition shades, some of which have a stronger base color and more radiant sheen than others. For instance, the shade Champagne Dream Flashes Bellini is subtle in its pigmentation and luminosity, while Amethyst Flashes Geode offers a more noticeable pop of color and sparkle. We suggest swatching these in store to find your ideal match.

Pros:
  • Gorgeous mix of everyday wearable shades + trendier hues.
  • Offers a "kaleidoscopic" (shifting) highlight as promised.
  • Pressed powder texture adheres well to skin and blends evenly
  • Fragrance free.
Cons:
  • None.
Jar Packaging: No
Tested on animals: No
More than a highlighter, the Light Chaser Highlighters transformative formula is the perfect marriage of kaleidoscopic color and light. Each shade is infused with kaleidoscopic pearls that chase the light for an otherworldly glow that makes your favorite features beam bright.

Becca At-A-Glance

Australian import Becca is a complete line of color cosmetics from makeup artist Rebecca Morrice Williams. As the story goes, Rebecca, like so many women, was having difficulty finding the perfect foundation. It seems her professional experience making up women of varying skin tones and preferences shared one truth: all women wanted perfect skin. This set Williams on her path to creating what would become the Becca line, a makeup collection that caters well to all skin tones.

While there are a number of excellent foundations here, what seems to have catapulted the brand onto the map is their numerous highlighter products. From liquids to powders, there are an incredible range of options in their luminizer categories, and many are superb.

Surveying the rest of this line revealed that Williams not only did her homework for foundation shades, the eyeshadows are amazingly silky, and many of their products for lips and cheeks are exemplary. Lastly, almost all of the makeup brushes from Becca are aces, and the options plentiful, especially for eye designs.

Strengths: Excellent concealers, foundations, highlighters and eyeshadows; good lip gloss; several outstanding brushes.

Weaknesses: Beats us, this is a strong collection of products.

Becca is available at Sephora, Ulta and via their Web site.
