Intensive Skin Supplement
Bobbi Brown's Intensive Skin Supplement comes with claims that it can improve skin's appearance as it helps prevent the visible signs of aging. Though this certainly isn't the most inexpensive serum out there, this is a product that can for the most part do what it says, which is why it earns our highest, four-star rating.
Intensive Skin Supplement comes in a translucent amber bottle with a dropper application. Though it's called a "supplement," it's essentially a water-based serum with a lightweight texture that makes it work for all skin types, including oily and acne-prone. It's fragrance-free (always good news for sensitive skin), and absorbs into skin quickly, leaving it feeling softer and lightly moisturized.
So what about those anti-aging claims? Intensive Skin Supplement backs them up by including an impressive blend of ingredients, including free radical-fightingantioxidants like tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), grape fruit extract, skullcap extract (listed here as scutellaria baicalensis root extract), magnesium ascorbyl phosphate (vitamin C), and green tea extract.
In addition there are skin identical and skin repairing ingredients such as sucrose and acetyl glucosamine. There's even sodium hyaluronate, which, because of its ability to help skin retain moisture, will help diminish the apperance of fine lines and make them appear "plumper." So what about Bobbi Brown's claims that specific ingredients will help in the anti-aging process? While white birch extract is a good antioxidant, it's not present in this formula in a great amount, and isn't any better than the other antioxidants which do appear higher on the ingredient list here.
Overall though, this is a good serum that gets a lot of things right, and one we definitely recommend!
Note: Though this product's dropper applicator isn't the ideal method to dispense a serum that contains light- and air-sensitive ingredients, sometimes this type of packaging is necessary due to formulary requirements. When that’s the case, the goal is to keep the bottle opening as small as possible, the bottle should be opaque or specially coated to protect the contents from light, and you should use the serum up within three months of opening.

Bobbi Brown At-A-Glance
Strengths: A good cleanser and eye makeup removers; some impressive foundations, with options for all skin types and preferences; very good blushes and eyeshadows (powder and cream); several top-notch mascaras; mostly excellent brushes.
Weaknesses: Multiple moisturizers in jar packaging, otherwise great products hindered with irritating fragrant oils or fragrance components.
It all began with lipsticks. In 1991, New York based makeup artist Bobbi Brown debuted a collection of ten lipsticks at Bergdorf Goodman, expecting to sell about one hundred units in a month. She sold more than that the first day. From there, it's been mostly success after success, as Brown launched her classic foundation stick, wrote her first book, Bobbi Brown Beauty The Ultimate Beauty Resource, and enjoyed continued attention as an in-demand makeup artist and beauty educator.
Today, Bobbi Brown's makeup that continues to excel with superior foundations, true matte blushes and eyeshadows, and with all of the other basics that are essential to anyone's makeup wardrobe. It isn't the least bit surprising that this makeup collection continues to do so well, because for many it's one-stop shopping that combines classic makeup application techniques with enough fun-yet-functional products to keep customer's interest piqued season to season.
Turning to the skincare collection, there are a few excellent formulas, but unfortunately, many are packaged in a jar, which means their beneficial ingredients are rendered useless due to air exposure (and bacterial contamination from spatulas or fingers). In addition, some suffer from the inclusion of potent fragrant essential oils. Those that should be avoided are noted in their respective reviews. That aside, color is without a doubt Bobbi Brown's strong point, but you will find a few sleeper hits among the selection of skincare products.
