Brand Overview

Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron Intense Moisture Lotion is a good way to give skin the moisture it needs but would be even better if it featured more of its advertised star ingredients.

This fragrance-free moisturizer comes in an opaque bottle with a pump dispenser. This type of packaging protects its beneficial air- and light-sensitive ingredients from exposure to either element, thus keeping them stable over time.

As this product’s name implies, this has a lotion texture that, while rich, isn’t overly thick or emollient, and absorbs quickly into skin, leaving it feeling soft, smooth, and hydrated.

Analyzing the ingredients, there are several stalwart moisturizing agents present, including two kinds of shea butter, hydrating sodium PCA, panthenol, and non-fragrant plant oils including soy and olive. There’s also skin-soothing allantoin.

What of the two forms of hyaluronic acid and minerals mentioned prominently in this product’s claims? Well, they’re here… but not in any great amounts. They’re down at the bottom of the ingredient list, after most of the preservatives. While hyaluronic acid can plump skin (and different molecular weights of it have benefit in terms of multi-level hydration), and the minerals have some antioxidant properties, they’re not allowed to do much here because of their lack of prominence (especially the minerals, which this formula is not at all “packed with” as claimed!).

Bearing that in mind, this is still a good moisturizing option, just one that doesn’t quite live up to its lofty claims.

  • Lotion feels rich and moisturizing, yet not greasy.
  • Includes moisturizing and skin-soothing ingredients.
  • Packaged to keep its beneficial ingredients stable.
  • Fragrance free.
  • Contains more preservatives than its star ingredients.
Jar Packaging: No
Tested on animals: No

Strengths: Inexpensive; some novel products worth checking out, fragrance-free.

Weaknesses: Some of the products in this line make claims that the results are like in-office cosmetic corrective procedures when that is not the case.

Promising high performance, innovative products, Canada-based Indeed Laboratories is a small, drugstore-sold line specializing in anti-aging-themed products. Their best-known product, and not surprisingly the one we're asked about the most, is Nanoblur. This product is essentially a silicone-based wrinkle filler and pore smoother that works, though no better than many other, similar products. All of these types of products work (temporarily, of course) to improve skin texture and fill imperfections to a degree that they're slightly to moderately less noticeable. Where Nanoblur makes its mark is the price point, which many will find enticing.

This is a line that seeks to avoid fragrance, and that's always to skin's benefit, and their modern-looking packaging will help keep light- and air-sensitive ingredients (like retinol) from degrading. Though the claims of certain products don't always live up to the reality of their ingredients,  if you keep your expectations realistic and don't expect miracles, you're far more likely to come away satisfied.
