Crescent White Full Cycle Brightening BB Creme and Brightening Balm
Crescent White Full Cycle Brightening BB Creme and Brightening Balm offers a BB cream and creamy, sheer highlighter in one cleverly packaged product. The BB cream is housed in the squeeze tube, while the flip cap holds the Brightening Balm. Combined, this is a great way to enliven, moisturize, brighten, and protect normal to dry skin! Multi-benefits? You bet!
The BB cream has a soft, sheer, peachy-pink tint that works for most skin tones. Rather than adding coverage (though you do get a bit of that), this banishes dullness and adds a subtle shot of healthy-looking color. The formula is ideal for normal to dry skin, including those prone to dryness and breakouts. Its finish and overall feel are likely to be frowned upon by those with oily skin.
The liquid-cream texture blends readily with skin, setting to a satin-glow finish that doesn't look overly greasy and feels hydrating, but not heavy or slick. Sun protection is provided by a broad-spectrum blend that includes stabilized avobenzone for reliable UVA screening.
Rounding out the slightly fragranced BB cream's formula is a mix of antioxidant plant oil, plant extracts with antioxidant benefits, and skin-repairing ingredients. We wish more BB creams offered this type of formula! Oh, and about that fragrance: It's not too potent, but if you have extra-sensitive skin, you may want to skip this one.
Turning to the Brightening Balm housed in this product's cap, it glides on smoothly and provides a moderate amount of pale gold shine wherever it's placed. We liked it best when applied under the eyes (on top of concealer) and to the high point of the underbrow area. While the shine isn't sparkling or glittery, it does leave a sheen that can be tricky to soften if you find it too obvious. It's less "lit-from-within", more "lights, camera, action!"
Brightening Balm doesn't crease or smudge once set, and its fragrance-free formula adds to the hydration abilities of the partner BB cream. If you decide to try this product, experiment with the Brightening Balm to see how you like the effects it allows you to create. You can dab it over eyeshadow or apply under concealer to soften its shine without completely losing the glow.
If it's not obvious, we're big fans of Crescent White Full Cycle Brightening BB Creme and Brightening Balm, especially for normal to dry skin, including those prone to breakouts. You get broad spectrum sun protection, lightweight moisture, a shot of healthy, complexion-enlivening color, anti-aging ingredients, and a built-in highlighter that's more versatile than it seems. The price makes this a splurge for many, but it's money well spent.

Estee Lauder At-A-Glance
The history of Estee Lauder goes back to 1946, when the woman who created the brand (and for whom it is named) began selling creams and lotions made by her chemist uncle. From its humble beginnings, Estee Lauder has grown to become a multibillion-dollar company whose products are sold all over the world and advertised in just about every fashion and women's lifestyle magazine available.
The biggest compliment we can pay to the venerable Estee Lauder line is that their moisturizers and serums can largely be described as state-of-the-art. Though fragrance is often intrusive, but when it comes to formulary excellence culminating in products that give skin what it needs to function optimally, they are tough to beat.
When it comes to makeup, by and large the brand also exceeds expectations. Though there are some under-performing products (you can read more about them in our individual reviews), Lauder has a number of excellent options, most notably its lip colors.
