Courrèges Lip Visor
Estee Lauder's Courrèges Lip Visor has a pleasantly plush, creamy feel on lips, but its artistic packaging turns out to be user-prohibitive. Why? Simply put, the awkward design gets in the way of applying this gloss. That unfortunate quality combined with the fact that it only comes in a clear or coral shade limits this formula's appeal. Despite the "limited edition" buzz, this gloss is nothing to get excited about.
For those curious about what the "Courrèges" part of this product's name is all about, Estee Lauder collaborated with the André Courrèges fashion house (best known for futuristic designs in the 60s) to create this limited edition gloss. Other than the chic-looking packaging, there's nothing unique about its formula, and more importantly, as we alluded to earlier, the cumbersome packaging and stubby applicator tip actually make it more difficult to apply smoothly. This ends up feeling kind of like splurging for a pair of high fashion heels, only to find that you are totally unable to walk in them.
As far as the gloss itself, the fragrance-free formula has a substantially thick texture that moisturizes and smooths over lips without making them feel sticky. The sheer wash of juicy color (in the shade Coral Mini) and transparent shine (in the See-Through shade) are nothing out of the ordinary but fit the bill if coral or clear gloss is what you're looking for.
The bottom line: If Estee Lauder's Courrèges Lip Visor were packaged in a more user-friendly way, we'd give it a higher rating, but even then, you can find excellent lip gloss options come in more a versatile shade range (many of which cost a fraction of the price) on our Best Lip Glosses list.

- Cumbersome packaging/stubby applicator aren't as user-friendly as they should be.

Estee Lauder At-A-Glance
The history of Estee Lauder goes back to 1946, when the woman who created the brand (and for whom it is named) began selling creams and lotions made by her chemist uncle. From its humble beginnings, Estee Lauder has grown to become a multibillion-dollar company whose products are sold all over the world and advertised in just about every fashion and women's lifestyle magazine available.
The biggest compliment we can pay to the venerable Estee Lauder line is that their moisturizers and serums can largely be described as state-of-the-art. Though fragrance is often intrusive, but when it comes to formulary excellence culminating in products that give skin what it needs to function optimally, they are tough to beat.
When it comes to makeup, by and large the brand also exceeds expectations. Though there are some under-performing products (you can read more about them in our individual reviews), Lauder has a number of excellent options, most notably its lip colors.
