Brand Overview

This squeeze-tube lip tint is available in two sheer shades, Pink and Plum, each of which provide a soft wash of non-sticky, glossy color and broad-spectrum sun protection that includes stabilized avobenzone for reliable UVA screening.

The sun protection is the chief anti-aging benefit this lip tint provides, but it does contain a decent amount of other beneficial ingredients, including shea butter and a derivative of niacinamide known as myristyl nicotinate. Combine those benefits with the sun protection and ease of application this lip tint (which is more accurately described as lip gloss) has and it adds up to a product worth considering. There's just one caveat…

The caveat is that the flavor/aroma ingredient in this product is of the minty variety, and it's slight tingle (which is fleeting) is a sign lips are being irritated, not soothed or replenished. Definitely not a deal-breaker, but it keeps this lip tint with sunscreen from earning our top rating. Still, "GOOD" is good and this is worth considering for its pleasant texture and sun protection alone!

Pros:
  • Provides broad-spectrum sun protection, which is important for keeping lips young and healthy.
  • Soft, glossy finish doesn't feel sticky or too syrupy.
  • Squeeze tube with angled applicator tip makes for easy application.
  • Attractive, sheer, flattering colors.
Cons:
  • The flavor/aroma is of the minty variety, and leaves lips with a slight tingling sensation that signals irritation.
Jar Packaging: No
Tested on animals: No

StriVectin put itself on the skincare map with its original StriVectin-SD cream, designed to treat stretch marks. The product took off and became the cornerstone of skincare collection whose focus is now on anti-aging. Its main selling point is its use of myristyl nicotinate (called NIA-114 in brand literature), which is related to and has many of the same properties as niacinamide.

Overall, the brand has some worthwhile products and for the most part theyre in packaging that will protect their ingredients from light and air. Unfortunately there are a number of options that include fragrance and other potential irritants, which are noted in our individual reviews.

As of 2019, StriVectin no longer sells in mainland China and is now cruelty-free. For more information about StriVectin, visit www.strivectin.com.
