Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Full Coverage Foundation
NYX’s Can't Stop Won't Stop Full Coverage Foundation is polarizing—you’ll either love it or hate it, depending on your skin type. Among its pros, the lightweight, creamy-fluid formula sets to a long-lasting, matte finish that holds back shine (a major plus for oily skin). The downside? It can draw unwanted attention to textured skin and pool into pores. Let’s delve into the nitty gritty details…
This silicone-based foundation dispenses via pump bottle. It quickly sets to a powder-like finish (swift blending is a must). We found it best to prep skin with a moisturizer or primer prior to application; otherwise, the oil-absorbent formula can feel drying and exaggerate any sort of texture issues, including flaky skin.
We also found it helpful to apply Can't Stop Won't Stop Full Coverage Foundation with a beautyblender sponge to help the coverage look smoother and minimize its tendency to pool into pores. Keep in mind that applying this foundation with a beautyblender can dilute the coverage—without the sponge you can expect full coverage.
As for NYX’s claim that this foundation “stays true for up to 24 hours” that’s a stretch (who wants to sleep in their foundation, anyway?), but it holds up pretty well throughout a standard workday, resists transferring, and keeps skin shine-free for several hours! It even withstood our water-splashing test.
The shade range covers the full spectrum of fair to deep skin tones, in dozens of colors for varying complexions. Bonus: NYX does a nice job of describing each shade’s undertone on their website to help you find the right match.
The bottom line: If you need shine control and have super-smooth skin, then Can't Stop Won't Stop Full Coverage Foundation is a great, long-wear option. If you have texture issues such as large pores, or dry, flaky areas, however, there are better foundations out there for you, which you can peruse here.

This small Los Angelesbased makeup line was founded in 1999 by a woman named Toni Ko. The company's Web site is vague about Ko's background, merely stating that she developed an interest in cosmetics as a teenager and wanted to create her own line of cosmetics. Ko's goal was to produce high-quality products at affordable prices, and that's the draw of NYX (pronounced "nicks") Cosmetics. We are pleased to report that, for the most part, Ko succeeded in her childhood dream.
It is important to note that this line offers a full selection of makeup products, from foundations to lip gloss. However, the only place to access everything NYX Cosmetics has to offer is their Web site. The Ulta chain is the largest distributor of NYX Cosmetics products in the United States, and the line can also be found at Target and Nordstrom Rack, but they carry a smaller selection of NYX products. The good news is that most of the few NYX products Ulta stocks are impressive, especially the powder eyeshadows, which compete evenly with eyeshadows that cost a lot more.
