Brand Overview

Bye Bye Pores™ Silk HD Anti-Aging Airbrush Bronzer is a loose-powder bronzer that's a good, though expensive, option if you are looking to achieve a tanned look without getting sun damage. The only safe tan is one you get from self-tanner or makeup, not the sun or tanning beds!

This loose-powder formula comes with a puff for application, but we recommend using a full-size brush for softer, more even coverage. It applies smoothly and gives the appearance of a warm glow.

This bronzer is lightweight and has a non-drying matte finish that doesn't emphasize lines. The sole color isn't muddy or orange-looking, so it looks natural on skin. The main issue is that this is a loose powder, which makes application messy and time-consuming. Plus, over time, the powder builds up on the cap and spills out whenever the jar is opened. There are many pressed-powder bronzers that perform just as well as this, or better, for far less money!

Note: IT Cosmetics claims this bronzer has anti-aging benefits, but given its jar packaging, the ingredients that have anti-aging benefits won't remain stable once the container is opened. When it comes to such ingredients, packaging really does matter.

  • Lightweight formula applies smoothly.
  • Bronze color gives a warm glow without appearing muddy or orange.
  • Contains no shimmer or shine.
  • Doesn't emphasize lines.
  • Loose powder is a messy way to use bronzer.
  • Anti-aging claims are overstated and the packaging won't keep the anti-aging ingredients stable.
  • Expensive for what you get.

IT Cosmetics (the IT stands for Innovative Technology) is the creation of Jamie Kern Lima, a former Miss USA pageant contestant and TV news anchor. Lima founded IT Cosmetics in 2008, selling her products in boutique stores and on QVC, then expanding into Canada in 2009. Since then, the line has gotten a lot of exposure with featured reports and stories on network television, including prominent mentions on the ABC reality show Dancing With the Stars.

The labels on most IT Cosmetics products reveal a variety of age-defying claims centered around ingredients like antioxidants, peptides, vitamins, and collagen. Those are indeed great additions to any cosmetic product, but unfortunately, the combination of compact or jar packaging among the formulas that include those helpful ingredients isnt a good thing.

Air exposure compromises ingredients like antioxidants and peptides, rendering them useless. While that doesnt affect the quality of the makeup, it is worth noting if you were hoping for an anti-aging edge from IT Cosmetics antioxidant-boosted blush or powders.

Of course, IT Cosmetics does have products that are absolutely worth checking out. The line boasts an excellent range of color products, highlighters, foundations and many more worth consideration. As with any line that has a mix of standouts and caveats, shopping using our reviews to guide you is a great way to ensure youll at least get your moneys worth, and your skin will be the better for it.
