Brand Overview

BH Cosmetics' Liquid Foundation – Naturally Flawless is a good, though not great, option if you're looking for an inexpensive foundation offering full coverage.

This fragrance-free foundation, which has a slightly thick cream-gel texture (it's not exactly a "liquid"), comes in a bottle with a pump dispenser. Despite the thickness, this is easy to spread and blend into skin. The coverage is initially medium but can be built up to full very easily.

Liquid Foundation – Naturally Flawless is advertised as a hydrating foundation, and while it is emollient, it's not overly dewy in appearance. In fact, although it dries down to a soft powder finish, it manages to feel moisturizing throughout its wear time. It also doesn't fade, even after a long work day, and comes in nearly 20 shades for very fair to deep skin tones.

The one drawback? Over time, it creases, emphasizing lines and wrinkles. You can buff these out with a makeup sponge, but if you don't have time to touch up, expression lines will become apparent. If that sole issue is something you're willing to put up with then this might be the foundation for you!

  • Easy to apply and blend.
  • Attractive, non-drying soft powder finish.
  • Comes in natural-looking shades for very fair to deep skin tones.
  • Doesn't fade over time.
  • Fragrance free.
  • Creases noticeably towards the end of its wear time.

The brainchild of three beauty industry insiders (including a former advertising executive) who set out to provide makeup lovers with colorful, quality products at affordable prices, BH Cosmetics got its start in Los Angeles in 2009. For the most part, the brand succeeds in this mission and has garnered a loyal following in the process.

BH Cosmetics was quick to reach out to social media stars to feature its products and the strategy has worked well; most of the brand’s notoriety is based on its presence in online reviews from influencers. But it’s more than just hype that’s put BH Cosmetics on the map: The products perform well, at prices that are budget-friendly.

For our initial reviews, we selected a handful of BH Cosmetics’ most popular products, and for the most part the news is good. Among the winners are a setting spray that skips the drying alcohol found in others, a foundation and concealer that hold up through a full day of wear and come in a good range of colors, and a brow pencil that’s a dupe for more expensive versions on the market.

Right now, BH Cosmetics is sold on the brand’s website, which also offers wholesale purchases for makeup artists, as well as at Ulta. You can learn more at https://www.bhcosmetics.com/.

We’re fascinated by skin care and makeup products and thrilled when they meet or exceed our expectations, but we’re also disappointed when they fail to perform as claimed, are wildly overpriced, or contain ingredients scientific research has proven can hurt skin.
