Brand Overview

BH Liquid Eyeliner isn't quite up to snuff with the best eyeliners out there, but it's still a good option.

The liquid formula is dispensed via a semi-flexible, felt-tip applicator that dispenses smooth, saturated color. The shiny black pigmentation stays put, without smudging or flaking and only minimal fading by day's end.

The reason this doesn't rate higher is that we just didn't find this as versatile as some of our favorite liquid liners. Despite having a tapered point, it's tricky to get ultra-fine, crisply-defined lines.

On the other hand, if you like a thicker, bolder eyeliner look, this works just fine. We suppose you could say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder on this one.

  • Dispenses smooth rich black color that stays put.
  • Works well for a thicker, bolder eyeliner look.
  • Fragrance free.
  • Not the most adept at creating fine, crisply-defined lines.

The brainchild of three beauty industry insiders (including a former advertising executive) who set out to provide makeup lovers with colorful, quality products at affordable prices, BH Cosmetics got its start in Los Angeles in 2009. For the most part, the brand succeeds in this mission and has garnered a loyal following in the process.

BH Cosmetics was quick to reach out to social media stars to feature its products and the strategy has worked well; most of the brand’s notoriety is based on its presence in online reviews from influencers. But it’s more than just hype that’s put BH Cosmetics on the map: The products perform well, at prices that are budget-friendly.

For our initial reviews, we selected a handful of BH Cosmetics’ most popular products, and for the most part the news is good. Among the winners are a setting spray that skips the drying alcohol found in others, a foundation and concealer that hold up through a full day of wear and come in a good range of colors, and a brow pencil that’s a dupe for more expensive versions on the market.

Right now, BH Cosmetics is sold on the brand’s website, which also offers wholesale purchases for makeup artists, as well as at Ulta. You can learn more at https://www.bhcosmetics.com/.

The Beautypedia team consists of skin care and makeup experts personally trained by the original Cosmetics Cop and best-selling beauty author, Paula Begoun. We’re fascinated by skin care and makeup products and thrilled when they meet or exceed our expectations, but we’re also disappointed when they fail to perform as claimed, are wildly overpriced, or contain ingredients scientific research has proven can hurt skin.

Our mission has always been to help you find the best products for your skin, no matter your budget or preferences. Beautypedia’s thorough and insightful reviews cut through the hype and provide reliable recommendations for all ages, skin types, and skin tones.
