Brand Overview
Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Complex Synchronized Recovery is the third incarnation of this silky eye "gel-cream", previously known as Advanced Night Repair Eye Synchronized Complex II.
As is typical for Estee Lauder’s eye creams, this one is loaded with beneficial ingredients for your skin. It has a beautifully silky, cream-gel texture and is fragrance-free. The problem is that Lauder still packages this in a jar, which means that all of the antioxidants and other fragile yet beneficial ingredients in this otherwise top-notch eye cream will become less potent with each use because once air gets in and with daily light exposure, the sensitive ingredients begin to deteriorate. Of course, there’s also the hygiene issue that comes with dipping your fingers into a jar, which further degrades the contents. What a shame.
In better packaging, this would be highly recommended for all skin types. Its smoothing, firming, and brightening abilities can help reduce the look of wrinkles, fine lines, dark circles, and loss of firmness, just not as well as many of the options on our list of best eye creams & treatments.
- Lush, cream-gel texture glides over skin.
- Softens fine lines and wrinkles.
- Brightens darkened undereye area.
- Loaded with antioxidant and replenishing ingredients.
- Fragrance free.
- Jar packaging won't help keep this formula's best ingredients effective.
- Anti-aging claims are a bit overstated.
Jar Packaging & Anti-Aging Eye Creams: Beneficial anti-aging ingredients, which include all plant extracts, almost all vitamins, antioxidants, and other state-of-the-art ingredients, are unstable, which means they begin to break down in the presence of air. Once a jar is opened and lets air in, these important ingredients begin to deteriorate, becoming less and less effective. Routine exposure to daylight also is problematic for these ingredients.
Jar packaging is also unsanitary because you dip your fingers into the jar with each use, contaminating the product. This stresses the preservative system, leading to further deterioration of the beneficial ingredients.
Remember: The ingredients that provide the most benefit in addressing visible signs of aging must be in airtight or air-restrictive packaging to remain effective throughout usage. Buying products in this type of packaging means that the ingredients have the best chance of remaining effective—to the benefit of your skin!

Estee Lauder At-A-Glance
The history of Estee Lauder goes back to 1946, when the woman who created the brand (and for whom it is named) began selling creams and lotions made by her chemist uncle. From its humble beginnings, Estee Lauder has grown to become a multibillion-dollar company whose products are sold all over the world and advertised in just about every fashion and women's lifestyle magazine available.
The biggest compliment we can pay to the venerable Estee Lauder line is that their moisturizers and serums can largely be described as state-of-the-art. Though fragrance is often intrusive, but when it comes to formulary excellence culminating in products that give skin what it needs to function optimally, they are tough to beat.
When it comes to makeup, by and large the brand also exceeds expectations. Though there are some under-performing products (you can read more about them in our individual reviews), Lauder has a number of excellent options, most notably its lip colors.
