This tinted moisturizer has an in-part avobenzone sunscreen, which makes for great UVA protection from this lightly emollient lotion. Its sheer tint has been darkened from the previous version, with the resulting color being a yellowish tan that is best for medium skin tones (those with fair skin will find this too dark and may look jaundiced).
Coverage is sparse, and, like the other DayWear Plus products, this includes a nice array of antioxidants and some cell-communicating ingredients. Lauder’s opaque tube packaging for this product ensures that the antioxidants remain stable.
The base formulation is different from those of the other DayWear Plus products, and is best for normal to slightly dry or slightly oily skin.
Also, this tinted moisturizer dispenses as a white lotion freckled with grayish-brown specks. As you blend, the “specks” break open to release the soft, warm tan color. The formula also contains several fragrance chemicals that have the potential to cause irritation. The amounts are likely too low to be a problem, but they keep this product from earning our top rating.
Note: This foundation’s rating is due to its overall performance rather than its SPF rating. Due to concerns about people not applying sunscreen liberally enough to get the amount of SPF protection stated on the label, it is often recommended to look for SPFs with ratings higher than 15. If you plan to use foundation as your sole source of facial sun protection, consider using one rated SPF 20 or greater. If the foundation with sunscreen you choose is rated less than an SPF 20, we strongly advise applying it over a daytime moisturizer rated SPF 15 or greater and following it with a pressed powder rated SPF 15 or greater. That way, you’re ensuring sufficient broad-spectrum protection which is essential for having and maintaining healthy, younger-looking skin at any age.
DayWear helps safeguard skin with advanced broad-spectrum sunscreen and our best UVA defense. Visibly reduces the first signs of aging, like fine lines, dullness and discolorations. In fact, 96% of women said their skin felt smoother, fresher and healthier instantly

Estee Lauder At-A-Glance
The history of Estee Lauder goes back to 1946, when the woman who created the brand (and for whom it is named) began selling creams and lotions made by her chemist uncle. From its humble beginnings, Estee Lauder has grown to become a multibillion-dollar company whose products are sold all over the world and advertised in just about every fashion and women's lifestyle magazine available.
The biggest compliment we can pay to the venerable Estee Lauder line is that their moisturizers and serums can largely be described as state-of-the-art. Though fragrance is often intrusive, but when it comes to formulary excellence culminating in products that give skin what it needs to function optimally, they are tough to beat.
When it comes to makeup, by and large the brand also exceeds expectations. Though there are some under-performing products (you can read more about them in our individual reviews), Lauder has a number of excellent options, most notably its lip colors.
