| The ingredient statement for this water-based serum does not comply with the FDA-regulated requirements for ingredient lists. In this case, most of the ingredient list is composed of trade names rather than the actual ingredient names, which makes it impossible for consumers to determine what they’re putting on their skin. Here’s how most of the deceptively listed ingredients shake out: Veegum HS Granules is magnesium aluminum silicate, an absorbent material used as a thickening agent; Sepitonic M3 is a blend of minerals that consists of magnesium aspartate, copper gluconate, and zinc gluconate; Montanov 202 is a blend of thickeners, including arachidyl alcohol, behenyl alcohol, and the emulsifier arachidyl glucoside; and Sepalift Dphp is the trade name for the water-binding agent dipalmitoylhydroxy proline. As you can see, this doesn’t add up to a very impressive formula. In addition, it includes wheat placenta; who knows how they came up with that ingredient—since when did wheat give birth and/or have a placenta? The magnesium aluminum silicate base along with the minerals provides a dry finish. Not only is this a lackluster serum with precious few benefits for skin, the faulty ingredient list is reason enough to avoid it. |
