L’Oreal promises their new Infallible powder will provide 16 hours of flawless, versatile coverage, but that is the epitome of over-promising. This compact pressed powder does indeed do a good job of controlling shine, but 16 hours just isn’t possible unless you never touch your face, don’t have any problem with oil, and never use a phone or hug someone.
Infallible Never Fail Powder SPF 20 works better dry than wet. Dry it’s a reliable, sheer powder that provides a soft matte finish to the skin. When applied wet it goes on heavy and has a cakey appearance on the skin. The included latex sponge is handy for application on the go, but you’ll get a finer and more professional application with a powder brush. The number of available shades is small, but the sheerness of this powder means that most skin tones will be able to find a workable option. The SPF 20 is nice, but don’t rely on this as your sole source of SPF protection because it doesn’t contain sufficient UVA-protecting ingredients. |
